Top 10 Natural Remedies to Pack When You Travel (Plus One Soul-Soothing Mocktail Ritual)

natural remedies to pack when you travel

If you prefer herbal teas over pharmaceuticals and essential oils over air fresheners, you’ll want these natural remedies to pack when you traveltrust me, they’ve saved me more than once.

For those of us who live and breathe natural wellness, knowing exactly which natural remedies to pack when traveling can make all the difference between a vibrant vacation and a drained one.

I got you because I have run into situations I did not plan for, which messed up my vacation.

If you value holistic health and want to feel grounded, vibrant, and protected on the go, this one’s for you.

After years of traveling with a wellness mindset, I’ve narrowed it down to my top natural remedies to pack when you travel. Each one is tried and true, road-tested, and essential for maintaining vitality on the move.

From airport Wi-Fi exposure to toxic hotel soaps, travel can really throw your system off.

But with some preparation, you can nourish your body, mind, and soul no matter where you land.

Let’s dive in.

#1 Natural Remedy To Pack When You Travel

Shield Your Body from EMF Overload

Airports, airplanes, hotels, and Airbnbs are saturated with electromagnetic radiation from Wi-Fi and other wireless technologies.

Learn more about radiation exposure in my article here.

Continuous exposure to these elevated EMF levels can disrupt mitochondrial function, making it harder for your cells to produce energy efficiently.

While many people tolerate some degree of Wi-Fi exposure, those who live in low-EMF environments, such as small mountain towns like mine, may find the transition to a city’s dense wireless networks overwhelming.

If you regularly practice EMF hygiene, like turning off your home Wi-Fi at night or using shielding techniques, you’ll likely notice the difference even more in places where wireless signals are constantly present.

Research has linked Wi-Fi exposure to oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction in cells, which are associated with various health concerns.

To help manage these stressors while traveling, I use an Earthing Card—a carbon-fiber, frequency-based tool designed to support the body’s natural balance by grounding and shielding against EMF exposure.

I keep mine in a leather pouch around my neck, especially when navigating airports and airplanes.

The EMF Shield + Earthing Card promotes

  • better sleep,
  • increased energy,
  • stress relief,
  • and overall vitality.

It can also enhance food and water quality by simply waving it over them, which may be especially useful when traveling and eating unfamiliar foods.

I also like this EMF shielding hoodie to wear to bed.

Especially if you are going to be exposed to wifi all night long.

This will protect your organs and your head from exposure.

When staying in a hotel, I recommend unplugging the alarm clock and covering small lights with clothing or a cloth to create a darker, more restful environment.

I also always bring an eye mask to enjoy complete darkness and get the best possible sleep.

It doubles as a bonnet because if you wear a silk bonnet to protect your hair, this silky fabric will work just as well!

And one last thing on sleep and jet lag.

If you have trouble with the time zone changes and resetting your clock to adjust you might consider high-dose melatonin suppositories.

#2 Natural Remedy to Pack When You Travel

Breathe Clean: Travel with a Nasal Spray & Nose Ring

The toxic fragrances in the world today are unbearable at times.

The synthetic perfumes, detergents, and fragrances in dish soap are unbelievable these days.

Educate yourself on the dangers of these toxins in my article about detergents here.

The smell travels so well and invades other people’s space.

These chemicals can interfere with the body’s hormone system, acting like hormones themselves and possibly contributing to issues such as abnormal cell growth, infertility, and a higher risk of cancer.

So to combat this, I travel with a silicone nose ring that does not require any kind of needle puncture.

It sits inside your nose comfortably like a nose ring, and you can put a few drops of essential oil on it, such as frankincense or rose otto.

In my opinion, these are two of the most high-vibe essential oils out there.

Or you can get a propolis nasal spray here and use it during your travels.

You can learn more about the protective qualities of propolis here in one of my recent articles.

This will protect your immune system and relieve you from toxic scents that permeate these enclosed spaces.

I also like to travel with Oregano Spray, which can be sprayed over pillowcases, sheets, or on your hands when you can’t wash them.

It will take out noxious pathogens and toxins.

#3 Natural Remedy to Pack When You Travel

Don’t Forget Clean Hand Soap

I don’t know about you, but the soaps at airports, rest areas, and Airbnbs are typically not the best.

Full of synthetic chemicals, fake fragrances, and other potential endocrine disrupters, you’re better off packing a travel-size clean soap bottle in your bag.

You can grab one of Dr Bronner’s small travel-size soap bottles here.

This soap can also double as a detergent, so you won’t have to use something with toxic fragrances and chemicals.

#4 Natural Remedy to Pack When You Travel

#4 Hydrate The Right Way

If you want optimal digestion and bowel movements when you travel, you will need to be hydrated.

I highly recommend organic fresh fruit that packs easily, like bananas or apples.

For a bit more effort, and a top-tier way I like to travel is by bringing Quinton vials.

It is a bit risky because they are in glass, but when packed right, this is my holy grail for keeping my immune system buzzing and my bowel movements regular.

I wrapped some brown paper around the cardboard piece they came in and then put it in a large sealable bag.

It does not take up too much space.

You can grab the quinton vials here.

This will provide you with all the electrolytes your body requires to run smoothly and efficiently.

They go right through your carry-on and security like a breeze.

When you get to your destination, find a store with mountain spring water in a glass for your stay.

It is a high-vibe option and will keep your cells hydrated.

It helps protect the planet and us from the increasing amount of microplastics in our environment, which I discuss in my post on detoxing microplastics.

Later, I will give you my ultimate travel mocktail to stay vibrant and comfortable during your stay.

#5 Natural Remedy To Pack When You Travel

Opt out of radiation scanners at the airport

Okay, so this is not something you pack, but it is key when flying for natural health.

I don’t fly often, but when I do, you can bet your bottom dollar I opt out of the scanner they request you go through at the airport.

I politely request a manual pat-down instead.

You can have a private room if you wish, and at large airports, they are typically swift to have someone on standby to handle this.

On my most recent trip, the girl was super nice, and I breezed through the process quickly.

Why expose yourself to even more radiation if you don’t have to?

The TSA usually uses millimeter wave scanners now, which are often labeled as safe because they don’t emit ionizing radiation.

But our bodies are highly sensitive to electrical frequencies, and even low levels of EMF exposure have been connected to things like disrupted calcium balance in the cells, lower melatonin levels, weakened immunity, and stress on the mitochondria.

So just because these scanners don’t directly damage DNA doesn’t mean they’re completely harmless.

If you’re going through these scanners regularly — especially if you’re pregnant, a child, or already dealing with inflammation or oxidative stress — it’s worth reconsidering how often you’re exposed.

You will already get a ton of it while flying.

And if you have had medical scans you are just adding more and more radiation over time which is not a good thing.

Antioxidant Protection

Be sure to load up on antioxidants or radiation protection, such as a fluoride-free green tea.

By the way, here is an old post I did back in the day about “How To Fly Like a Jedi”.

#6 Natural Remedy To Pack When You Travel

Move Your Lymph Daily | Legs Up the Wall

Okay, so you don’t need to pack anything in your suitcase for this natural remedy.

However, it is key for a healthy trip and to look and feel your very best.

If you want to remain healthy and look vibrant on your trip, you must perform the Big 6 lymph drainage techniques.

In that article link above, I go into depth with what you need to do.

It will probably take you 5 minutes to complete, but it will be a game-changer in keeping your body healthy, strong, and resilient.

Not to mention, you won’t look as tired as you may feel from all the travel.

Then, each night, be sure to do some lymph drainage of your legs and get blood circulating to your head.

Do this by putting your legs up a wall for around 15 minutes.

Not only will you have better circulation and detoxification, but you will also reset your nervous system.

#7 Natural Remedy To Pack When You Travel

Nervous System Regulation On The Go

Although your device can be a source of EMF, it can also be a tool for rebooting your nervous system while traveling.

You can use apps like Insight Timer and download your favorite mind-calming tracks to use them when your phone is in airplane mode.

If you deal with any pain, you may love the app Curable!

It can be super helpful if you are having a flare-up.

It is like a therapist on the go for pennies compared to a real one.

So, having a device with this app may soothe your nervous system.

You may also enjoy high-vibe music like this artist on  YouTube – Malte Marten Method, when you are feeling anxious.

#8 Natural Remedy To Pack When You Travel

Medicine Box or Pill Organizer

Instead of bringing a bunch of bottles, get yourself a pill organizer for your supplements.

This will make remembering what to take a breeze and conserve space in your travel bag.

With a medicine box, you can stay on top of your regimen.

Some essentials to consider would be the things that support gut health.

You might bring butyrate, a probiotic, or L-glutamine.

Another mega-important supplement to bring is a toxin binder.

If you are eating out or eating food that may not be your typical go-to, you can protect yourself with a binder such as this one.

#9 Natural Remedy To Pack When You Travel

Adaptogenic Herbal Tea Bags

I love to bring my favorite stress-relieving tea bags with me when I travel.

They are light and easy to pack, and they can provide deep nutrition to your body during a potentially stressful moment.

An adaptogenic tea, such as holy basil, is perfect for this.

You might also like Rose tea for comfort and high vibes.

Bring a small bag of collagen to add to your tea to kick it up a notch.

Collagen dissolves quickly but gives you joint, gut, skin, hair, and nail support.

#10 Natural Remedy To Pack When You Travel

Fresh Ingredients Whilst Traveling

Believe it or not, I love packing fresh ginger roots on the plane.

Now traveling internationally, I am not sure it would get through security, but on a domestic flight here in the USA, it gets through just fine.

Ginger improves circulation, digestion, and overall well-being.

It can soothe an upset stomach and improve our lymphatic system drainage.

It also provides us with the main ingredient to an Elite Mocktail called The Glow Tonic.

With a little effort, you can have an epic drink on your trip that tastes great, provides comfort, and has health benefits that go beyond skin deep.

If you like stevia, you can throw it in your bag for a little sweetener to add to it.

I will share the recipe below.

But to sum up, other fresh ingredients to travel with are simply packing some fresh fruit, as mentioned earlier.

Bananas, apples, plums, pears, or anything easy to accommodate in your carry-on.

Fruit supports your thyroid, provides quick energy, and has fiber to help with bowel movements and remove toxins.

It can help keep you hydrated, too.

Your Nightly Travel Mocktail

🍹 Bonus: The Glow Tonic – Your Nightly Travel Mocktail

Meet my favorite wind-down ritual: the Glow Tonic. This simple mocktail supports digestion, lymph flow, and immunity—and it’s the perfect way to stay grounded and nourished while traveling.

✨ What You’ll Need:

  • A thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger root

  • Sparkling mineral water

  • A few drops of stevia, monk fruit, or maple crystals

  • (Optional) Lemon/lime juice or bitters

🥄 How to Make It:

  1. Mince or grate the fresh ginger.

  2. Muddle it in a bowl or glass to release the oils. You can improvise with a spoon if you don’t have a muddler!

  3. Strain the ginger tea and pour over ice with sparkling water.

  4. Sweeten to taste and enjoy slowly.

🌿 Pro tip: Staying at an Airbnb? Use the kitchen to your advantage and make a batch. On the go? Look for ginger juice, but fresh is always best.

This drink isn’t just about taste—it’s about setting an intention to nourish yourself no matter where you are. And honestly? It’s one of the most underestimated natural remedies to pack when you travel.

I had this just about every night on my latest trip.
