Ever pay for over priced not so good kale chips at the store? Not only do most of them end up crushed into tons of pieces but they are often stale.
I suggest you create your own fresh, delicious, and cost effective version and make the best raw kale chip recipe ever!
Kale is an important nutrient dense plant for our well being promoting the detoxification of xeno-estrogens and providing important nutrients so long as it can be digested. How do you make your kale more bio available? Best way is to heat it in some format. I prefer dehydration to preserve the nutrients or steaming kale as a side dish works great too. In this recipe we will make raw kale chips and dehydrate them for 10-12 hours in the dehydrator on a low setting.
You will need:
1 bunch organic curly kale (the curly kale helps hold in the “vegan cheese sauce better than dinosaur kale”
1 whole bulb of OG garlic (about 10 cloves)
1/4 cup Organic Nutritional Yeast (Premier Research Labs makes a great one)
1 cup OG raw cashews
1/2-1 tsp cayenne pepper or however spicy you like
3 tbs fresh squeezed lemon juice
1/8 cup spring or distilled water
1/2 of one really ripe red bell pepper
1/2 tsp premier pink salt
Clean your kale and remove the stalks. Place the kale in a large mixing bowl. Blend all ingredients except the kale into a high powered blender like the vitamix.
Massage the kale with your mixture. I like using gloves to do this. Place on dehydrator trays at 115 and let dry for about 10-12 hours. These are so fresh and tasty.
