Root Causes and Natural Remedies for Alzheimer’s: What You Need to Know

alzheimer's remedies

Natural remedies for Alzheimer’s and the root cause may differ from what you’ve been taught through conventional medicine.

Since 2020, the data shows that there has been an uptick in alzheimers ‘s-related deaths.

Could SARS-Cov-2 be a key contributor to Alzheimer’s?

A study published in Nature Medicine highlights this crucial link, which is often overlooked in traditional medicine.

Recent studies have uncovered a concerning connection between COVID-19 infection and an increased risk of developing or accelerating Alzheimer’s disease (AD).

Research suggests that the virus responsible for COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, can affect the brain by triggering inflammation and oxidative stress, as well as damaging the protective blood-brain barrier (Jiang et al., 2024).

Hospitalized COVID-19 patients have been found to exhibit higher levels of biomarkers typically associated with Alzheimer’s, such as β-amyloid and tau proteins, which are key in AD pathology.

The virus may directly infect brain cells, exacerbating neural damage and accelerating cognitive decline (Hafler et al., 2025).

Moreover, even individuals who experienced mild COVID-19 symptoms sometimes report persistent “brain fog” and other neurological effects similar to early signs of Alzheimer’s disease.

Have you noticed your brain is not quite like it used to be in recent years?

We are seeing this in the young and the old.

Social isolation and disrupted healthcare during the pandemic also contributed to increased cognitive and mental health challenges among those with Alzheimer’s (Merla et al., 2025; Delgado-Alonso et al., 2025).

This is just one of the potential reasons for an uptick in Alzheimer’s over the last 5 years.

What Happens to the Brain as a Result of Viral Infections?

Viruses such as SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19, and pathogens involved in Lyme disease have been found to target the hippocampus—a critical brain region responsible for

  • Memory formation
  • Emotional awareness
  • and Neurotransmitter Regulation.

The Hippocampus, Our Spiritual Connector?

The hippocampus is also involved in emotional responses.

Moreover, it is the area that connects us to the higher realms and our higher self.

The hippocampus helps us integrate emotional context with memories, which may serve as a bridge between our personal experiences and a sense of connection to a higher self or greater reality.

While the amygdala acts as the brain’s center for raw emotional processing, the hippocampus anchors these emotions within a broader framework of self-awareness and meaning—key elements often described during spiritual experiences.

Research shows that the hippocampus is active during meditation and spiritual practices, and individuals who regularly engage in these practices tend to have increased hippocampal volume and neuroplasticity (Newberg & Waldman, 2006; Luders et al., 2013).

Although neuroscience is still unraveling the complexities of spirituality, current findings support the idea that the hippocampus plays a vital role in our brain’s capacity for spiritual connection and perception of higher realms, working in concert with other brain regions like the parietal cortex and prefrontal areas.

This is why I advocate for daily meditation.

It is a free health tool available to everyone.

hippocampus and covid

Research shows that COVID-19 can trigger inflammation, oxidative stress, and even direct viral invasion in the hippocampus, leading to neuronal degeneration, reduced neurogenesis, and impaired synaptic plasticity.

These changes disrupt memory and learning processes and are strongly linked with the “brain fog” and cognitive decline experienced by many post-COVID patients.

How Lyme May Contribute to Alzheimer’s Disease

Similarly, Lyme infections can cause neuroinflammation that affects the hippocampus, contributing to neurological symptoms.

The hippocampus’s vulnerability to these infections helps explain why survivors of COVID-19 and Lyme disease often show memory impairment and other cognitive challenges.

Protecting this vital brain region through targeted therapies is a key focus for enhancing cognitive recovery in individuals affected by this condition.

We will explore remedies later in this article.

Borrelia Cysts in the Brain: Could They Be Causing Alzheimer’s?

Some vital research is showing that Borrelia burgdorferi—the bacteria behind Lyme disease—might actually play a role in Alzheimer’s.

A key study by Miklossy in 2006 suggested that the cyst forms of Borrelia present in the brain could be responsible for the amyloid plaques observed in Alzheimer’s brains.

These bacterial cysts and their associated biofilms may cause ongoing inflammation and damage, contributing to the development of Alzheimer’s symptoms.

More recent studies back this up.

In 2022, Miklossy identified Borrelia’s DNA and proteins, where the classic Alzheimer’s markers—amyloid and tau—appear in the brain.

They also showed in lab tests that Borrelia infection can make human brain cells produce more amyloid and tau proteins, which are linked to the typical Alzheimer’s damage.

This infection angle isn’t mainstream yet, but it could explain a lot, especially for those who’ve had Lyme disease or chronic exposure to Borrelia.

The issue is that when these types of retroviruses weaken the body, the resulting weakness leads to a low white blood cell count, making one susceptible to parasitic infections.

Is Lyme Disease More Prevalent Than We Once Thought?

I believe Lyme disease is underdiagnosed, based on my own research and studying the subject.

Emerging evidence supports the groundbreaking finding that Lyme disease is transmitted by a range of vectors, including mosquitoes and fleas, not just ticks [EPA, 2025].

In fact, the traditional way we test for Lyme in this country is via the spinal fluid (CDC, 2025; Bay Area Lyme Foundation, 2025).

If we are looking at fluid in the spine, that does not make sense to me at all.

From what I understand, the spine has an enzyme that prevents Lyme from living inside it.

Lyme disease typically affects people in their joints.

Many are walking around with Lyme and do not realize it.

And most tests will tell you, you don’t have it because the tests are flawed.

Alzheimer’s and Oral Bacteria Link

Could Porphyromonas gingivalis be a root cause of Alzheimer’s disease?

From what I’ve researched, one of the emerging root causes of Alzheimer’s disease could be Porphyromonas gingivalis—the bacteria behind chronic gum disease.

This pathogen is present in periodontal disease.

Studies have discovered its presence in the brain tissue of Alzheimer’s patients, right alongside the classic amyloid plaques and tau proteins that characterize the disease.

What makes this even more possible is that these bacteria produce enzymes called gingipains that are toxic to brain cells.

This pathogen invades the brain.

In animal studies, when P. gingivalis enters the brain, it triggers inflammation and damage similar to what is observed in Alzheimer’s disease.

Scientists have found that blocking these gingipains can reduce the bacterial invasion and protect brain cells.

The remedy is Propolis, which we will explore later.

This suggests that gum disease isn’t just a mouth problem—it could have a profound impact on brain health and may be a target for preventing or slowing cognitive decline (Dominy et al., 2019; Singhrao et al., 2025).

Gum disease causes systemic inflammation, and through the oral-intestinal-brain connection, it might contribute to neurodegenerative illnesses like Alzheimer’s.

So, taking care of oral health might be one of the overlooked ways to protect our brain and reduce dementia risk (Singhrao & Olsen, 2025; Olsen et al., 2025).

Glyphosate, Heavy Metals and Alzheimer’s Disease

There was a recent study at Arizona State University looking into the connection between the widely used pesticide glyphosate and Alzheimer’s Disease.

This pesticide crosses the blood-brain barrier, making the brain susceptible to neuroinflammation that increases the proteins found in Alzheimer’s Disease (amyloid-β and tau).

Glyphosate destroys the gut, and our gut health is directly linked to our brain health.

Glyphosate fosters the growth of bad bacteria in our soil and microbiome.

This is why regenerative farming is crucial if we are going to thrive once again.

You can learn more about natural remedies for glyphosate in my article here.

Aluminum, Other Heavy Metals and Alzheimer’s Disease

We can see that the amount of aluminum in our atmosphere is increasing by the year.

There was a 29% increase in aluminum in the mesosphere from 2020-2022.

We can see from testing people’s urine and through hair mineral analysis that a significant amount of aluminum is accumulating in the body.

But what does this do to the brain?

Of course, it creates neuroinflammation, alters brain function, and triggers the system to short-circuit.

Animal studies have reported brain changes when there is an abundance of aluminum in the brain.

Mercury and lead are other key drivers, as mercury is in many people’s mouths today in the form of fillings.

This material is highly neurotoxic and each time you chew it, it releases vapors.

They need to be removed properly by a biological dentist and replaced with new, healthy material.

These metals surely do not help your hippocampus either and there is concern in my field of allies that it shuts off the connection to the Divine.

My Thoughts On Root Cause & Natural Remedies for Alzheimer’s

The brain is a sensitive organ.

The brain needs several things to perform at its best one of those things being proper circulation.

The lymphatic system is a part of our body, but the brain has the glymphatic system.

It can be helpful to rub medicinal creams into the neck that help with circulation to stimulate the glymphatic system.

This was a great tool presented to me from the creator of Bravo Yogurt as well as Dr Klinghardt.

This is a key part of any detox protocol.

A key ingredient to look for is chondroitin sulfate and ginkgo biloba.

A light bounce on the rebounder can help as well.

When the brain lacks the proper metals, it will utilize whatever metals are available.

This means that if there is an excess of aluminum circulating, it will utilize it instead of certain metals, such as iron, copper, zinc, magnesium, and manganese, to function properly.

These metals help the brain:

  •  Produce energy,
  • Facilitate communication between nerves,
  • Protect against damage,
  • And maintain overall function.

When the brain isn’t getting enough of these essential metals, it can start grabbing onto whatever metals it can find—even harmful ones like aluminum.

Unlike aluminum, these essential metals are built to support healthy brain function rather than interfere with it.

Therefore, ensuring your brain has sufficient levels of the right metals is crucial for maintaining its health and preventing damage.

Also consider a heavy metal cleanse, presence of glyphosate in water, which can be a source of which I have talked about in past posts.

Many foods today, even if organic, are contaminated due to the water being a source of glyphosate exposure.

Consider using cilantro tinctures and binders, such as chlorella to help remove toxins.

SARS-CoV-2 & Alzheimers’s Natural Remedy

COVID inserts into your pituitary, causing changes in expression. It attacks the hippocampus, causing degeneration of the neurons.

So what can you do about it?

Things like lithium orotate and andrographis can help to restore memory over several months.

Pantethine in high doses can help to silence the spike protein that is now embedded in each one of us.

Skull cap tinctures are also helpful here.

For a cost effective treatment look to Cistus tea which I have wrote about here.

NAC and Vitamin C are a powerhouse to keep your body strong and your glutathione production humming.

Remember, Vitamin C has a short half-life, so it’s recommended to take several doses per day.

In these times, Vitamin C is not a luxury; it is a necessity.

Alzheimer’s Disease and Oral Pathogens Natural Remedy

When we look at the potential case of Alzheimers disease being caused by oral bacterias such as Porphyromonas gingivalis we can look to solutions such as Propolis and Cistus orally.

Studies have shown a reduction in this pathogen when used as a mouthwash.

It’s the very material bees use to build their hives, and interestingly, researchers have found that propolis can significantly reduce radiation inside the hive when measured with a radiation meter.

So it is also a way to protect yourself from electromagnetic radiation.

Beyond that, propolis is a powerhouse for supporting our innate immune system.

It’s particularly effective at helping clear harmful bacteria like Porphyromonas gingivalis, which is linked to gum disease and possibly Alzheimer’s disease.

This makes propolis not just a bee product, but an important natural ally in boosting immunity and protecting brain health.

Retroviruses and Alzheimer’s Disease Natural Remedy

The retroviruses that may contribute to Alzheimer’s, such as those from Borrelia, can be minimized with herbal tinctures in a liposomal form for optimal absorption.

Herbs such as andgrophis, artemisia, Japanese knotweed, skullcap, nettle, cistus and reishi are powerful immune boosters that help to negate the symptoms associated with retroviruses.

Dr Klinghardt one of my teachers has taught me so much about the retrovirues and how many medicines from the earth are powerful in managing the symptoms.

WIFI Contributes to Disease & A Natural Remedy

We do not want to overlook the real issue of WIFI and Electromagnetic Radiation invading all areas of our lives and bodies.

This is a serious health challenge we face in the modern world.

The WIFI is a key contributor to exacerbating health conditions of all kinds.

Take the proper steps to protect yourself, especially in your home, by turning off the router at night.

Hardwire in your computers like the old days and sleep in a faraday cage.

When in large cities, there is EMR clothing to shield your brain and body.

Look to Rosemary Tinctures and Propolis extracts to protect you when out and about in the world.

Summary Natural Remedies Alzheimer’s and Root Cause

As we look at the root cause of Alzheimer’s and Natural Remedies  to overcome it, we have many  medicines from the natural world.

We looked at Cistus, Rosemary, and Propolis to name a few.

We touched on the glymphatic system and ensuring our brain is well-oxygenated.

And we discussed the lifestyle habits, such as WIFI hygiene and protective clothing, when in larger metropolitan areas.
