Natural Artery Cleanse Drink
- 4-6 Beets cleaned, peeled and tails removed chop or cube beets
- 1-3 pieces ginger root chopped (more if you want it spicy) chopped or sliced fresh ginger root
- 2 whole lemon rinds adds nutrition to the tonic and flavor
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 1 vegetable culture starter optional but this helps amplify the good bacteria
- 2-3 cloves garlic Extremely good for arterial health
- 1 habanero pepper chopped If you don't like it too spicy you can omit this and just add a small amount of cayenne pepper to taste upon serving but this is helpful for cleansing arteries.
- 1-3 pieces fresh turmeric root chopped or sliced or powder could work as a subsitute
- Be sure you start with a sterile wide mouth mason jar. I like to use a 2 quart jar because you will need ample room (about half the jar) open to allow it to ferment. Do not fill all the way to the top.
- Clean, peel and chop the ingredients and prepare the lemon rind.
- Add to the mason jar with the sea salt.
- Combine veggie starter and purified water to half fill the jar. Be sure to mix the veggies starter a bit to dissolve. The water can be warm to touch to do this.Make sure the veggies are covered but you have left enough space for expansion.
- Cover with tight woven muslin cloth or a coffee filter and a rubber band to hold in place.
- Keep the tonic at room temperature for 3-4 days. If you see a film on the top throughout simply skim it off.
