Frankincense Benefits Inflammatory Response

Most know frankincense as an essential oil but it begins as a gum resin. It is also known as Boswellia.

The gum resin was used as a natural remedy long before you and I existed.

It was specifically used to reduce chronic inflammation.

In fact it was used as a medicine, in cultural ceremonies and in sacred rituals long ago.

The specific factor in frankincense is related to its ability to stop leukotrienes from releasing into the body.

It also helped regulate the immune response.

In fact studies show that frankincense helps improve osteoarthritis, pain, gingivitis and M.S.

This plays a huge role in our inflammatory response.

This was one of the 3 gifts given to Jesus by the Magi.

It is a great idea to get a bottle of Frankincense Serrata for your home remedy medicine cabinet.

You can use this topically on the inflamed area so long as no skin is broken.

You may want to dilute it in a carrier oil such as coconut or jojoba oil.

Swish and oil pull for 15-20 minutes then spit out in a trash can.

You are getting the anti-fungal benefits from the coconut oil along side the natural anti-inflammatory effects of the frankincense for the gums.

You can get omega 3s from a high quality fish oil, flax seeds and walnuts to name a few.

There are two acids that are responsible for the anti-inflammatory effects: DHA and EPA.

I love to get fresh flax seed and grind them up fresh on salads, yogurt or acaí bowls.

Flax seeds go rancid fast so keeping the well sealed and in a cool place is important.

Grind them fresh to get max benefits.
