5 Reasons Why An Enema Bag Is The Perfect Natural Health Solution

enema bag

If you’re looking for a natural and effective way to improve your health, an enema bag may just be the perfect solution to keep on hand.

This simple device has been used for centuries to cleanse the colon and promote overall wellness.

In ancient Greece, Hippocrates, often regarded as the father of modern medicine, recommended the use of enemas for certain medical conditions.

Similarly, ancient Roman physicians, such as Galen, advocated for the therapeutic use of enemas.

Many people are still unaware of the benefits of using an enema bag especially some of the unique uses for natural health and as a natural remedy.

In this blog post, we will explore five reasons why an enema bag should be a staple in your natural health routine and guide you on how to use an enema bag for optimal results.

Understanding the Function of an Enema Bag

Before diving into why an enema bag could be the holistic wellness tool you’ve been searching for, it’s essential to understand what it does and how it works.

So, what exactly is an enema bag?

Essentially an enema bag helps to clean out the colon.

An enema is a bag filled with a beneficial liquid solution designed to cleanse your colon, the lower part of your bowel.

This humble bag works through the simple but effective principle of gravity.

The liquid inside flows downward into a tube, which is then gently inserted into the rectum.

Inside your colon, the solution gets to work.

Water is the greatest of solvents.

It softens any hardened stool, encourages muscle contractions, and ultimately initiates bowel movements.

This process isn’t just about relieving constipation; it’s about promoting overall colon health.

And those who are just beginning a wellness journey and switching over to a healthier diet may have tons of toxins dumped into the colon.

The enema bag then becomes an essential tool to help get this stuff out of the body.

By flushing out accumulated waste and toxins, an enema helps to maintain a clean and healthy colon, providing an array of health benefits.

Don’t be fooled by the simplicity of the enema bag.

This wellness tool does a hefty job of supporting your body’s natural cleansing and detoxification process, keeping your internal environment free of unwanted toxins.

With proper use, an enema bag can be a powerful addition to your holistic health routine.

But remember, the choice of an enema bag matters too as well as how you clean it and what liquid goes in it.

Which we will discuss in a later section of this post.

An Enema Bag is a Health Tool

Keep in mind an enema bag is a tool, not a crutch.

If you are dealing with chronic constipation an enema bag is not a solution for daily use.

At that point, you should speak to a trusted healthcare consultant as dependency on an enema bag can result in electrolyte imbalance and disruption of the bacteria in the colon.

Understanding these details for a safe and effective cleanse, which we’ll explore further in the next section.

1. Natural Colon Cleanse

The body’s inherent detoxification system works tirelessly to filter out toxins that come our way from myriad sources –

  • From processed foods
  • Highly heated cooked foods
  • The pollutants in the air we breathe
  • The everyday stressors that become part and parcel of our lives

Over time, however, these toxins can accumulate in the colon, laying the groundwork for a multitude of health problems.

Sometimes the enema bag is a quick solution when you have eaten something that doesn’t sit well with you or when you are traveling and tense which can make it hard to go.

This is where the enema bag comes in handy, and is an essential device to keep on hand so you can take care of yourself or a loved one.

Or if one begins a healthy lifestyle after years of bad habits many toxins will be dumped from the body and an enema bag serves as a tool to help eliminate some of the toxins being expelled.

By facilitating a colon cleanse, the enema bag plays an instrumental role in the following ways:

  1. Removal of Stool Buildup: Enemas can help soften and eliminate impacted stool from the colon.

  2. Detoxification: Some individuals use enemas as part of a detoxification process, aiming to flush out toxins and waste materials from the colon.

  3. Relief from Gas and Bloating: Enemas can provide relief from gas and bloating by removing excess gas and fecal matter from the colon, potentially alleviating discomfort.

2. Enema Bag for Constipation

enema bag for constipation

When it comes to matters of digestion, it is your colon where wellness begins or ends.

Statistics show us that millions suffer from chronic constipation resulting in more visits to the Doctor’s office in a recent report from statnews.com.

What’s more, it is also the result of over 700,00 emergency room visits each year.

It is important to keep the colon and digestive tract healthy now more than ever.

The world is more toxic than ever before and this is a key reason as to why the body gets plugged up and can’t handle the influx of toxins

From the foods to the air we breathe we need solutions such as an enema bag to help our body’s.

In the following section of this post, we will dive deeper into a holistic approach to this situation that is rampant.

Most people instead of taking a deep root cause approach find the fleet enema.

Many people are familiar with a fleet enema which you can find at your local drug store.

But to truly do deep cleansing a fleet enema is not going to cut it.  These enemas have only a small amount of liquid in them and are not always safe due to the ingredients in them.

A fleet enema has a cup or two of liquid which does not address the entire length of the colon.

A fleet enema is a small stepping stone to a real enema such as one using a full enema bag.

You need to fill the enema bag full of pure water and let nature’s solvent do its work and get through the entire colon.

Clogged Colon

Think of how you clean pots and pans.

You let water sit on that hardened matter to break it up. This makes it easier for you to clean right?

Well, this is what water does for your insides.

Not to mention many people have layers of impacted fecal matter like old, clogged up pipes. You need to get enough clean water in there to let it start breaking this stuff up.

This way you will once again be able to absorb nutrients and minerals from your food.

Now to make it more comfortable you can warm the water to room temperature and also lube the tip with coconut oil.

Complaints can range from the mild nuisance of constipation to the discomfort of bloating, all the way to a chronic issue.

But an enema bag and its use of it is just one piece to a holistic approach to health.

Fortunately, the use of an enema bag can lend a much-needed hand in navigating these digestive hurdles.

Softening hardened fecal matter and inducing bowel movements offers a reprieve from the tenacious grasp of constipation.

But that’s not all.

As the enema bag empties its beneficial liquid into the colon, it simultaneously rids the body of lingering toxins and waste.

This cleansing process can result in improved digestion and reduced bloating, offering relief from a spectrum of digestive troubles.

It starts to break up impacted fecal matter and remove it from the body.

This is a huge help to your system.

With the use of an enema bag, your digestive tract can transition from a battlefield of discomfort to a more harmonious state, setting the stage for better overall health.

This is so long as other healthy habits come into play which we will discuss later in this article.

So, if you’ve been battling digestive issues, the humble enema bag might be the ally you need in this fight for optimal wellness.

3. Enema Bag for Parasite Infections

enema bag for parasites

An enema can help in the case of parasites.

Now again it is only an adjunct to a parasite protocol but it could help them more easily flush out of your system.

If you are taking a parasite herb or natural remedy for parasites the help of an enema bag can move the critters on their way.

Things like Giardia are a common reason for chronic constipation.

Many people assume that that is just a third-world issue.

But I am here to tell you it is just simply not the case anymore.

Here is a great example.

When people from other countries come to the United States and they pee in the lake for example.

Well this bacteria then is in this lake and you now go swimming and acquire the Giardia bug.

At first, it will cause diarrhea but after that first bout of diarrhea Giardia causes long-lasting chronic constipation.

Learn more in some medical findings here.

What’s more is that in conventional testing parasites are very hard to diagnose.

Parasites are shape shifters and are good at hiding.

If you suspect a parasitic infection you will need to implore a holistic strategy such as:

  • Probiotic-Rich Foods
  • Protocol of Enemas strategic to the type of parasite
  • Natural Herbal remedies Myrrh
  • Diet that does not feed them
  • Periodic Liver flushing

This is another use for the enema bag which makes it an essential tool to keep on hand.

5. Enema Bag for Alternative Therapies

Coffee Enemas

An enema bag or bucket like our drawing above can be used for alternative therapies in detox strategies such as in parasite and heavy metal cleansing, or in cancer therapy.

For example, the coffee enema is used at the Gerson Institute in Mexico to treat cancer holistically.

It is there they implement several enemas per day.

They utilize juicing on the hour every hour at the clinic to replenish the minerals lost from the use of the enemas.

The coffee enema works to detoxify the liver. You can read more about coffee enemas and how to do one in our article here.

Other Types of Enemas

  • Baking Soda Enemas
  • Lemon Juice Enemas
  • Herbal Enemas
  • Eucalyptus Enemas
  • Salt Water Enemas

Things You Must Know

Water Quality is key.

One of the most important aspects to the enema solution is the quality of water you are using.

You need to be prudent here to not add more toxins into your system.

I like to use distilled water from my home distiller.

You can get your own USA distiller here. Also use my code DETOX for 5% off.

My Personal Experience with Enema Bags

And learn from my own experience of using non-distilled water.

It caused me cramping and feeling not good for hours.

The water you use is very key to cleansing your bowels.

Look for distilled water in glass at the store if you are not ready to invest in a home distiller.

But as you get more serious about your home health sanctuary you will want to invest in a home distiller unit.

This will come into use for all your water therapy applications.

Whether you are using your enema bag in a plain water enema or doing a deeper detox with a coffee enema.

The foundation of the water use is the most important part.

Today tap water is full of toxins ranging from chemicals, drug residues, pesticides, herbicides, bacteria and parasites.

What is your enema bag made of?

You also don’t want to just go for a cheap enema bag that leeches bpa and chemicals into the water.

Opt for a medical-grade silicon bag or better yet use a stainless steel enema bucket or glass bucket instead.

Don’t overuse enemas but instead find a holistic approach and speak with a trusted health care professional.

Re-establish Healthy Flora

Be sure to re-establish good healthy bacteria into your colon via:

  • Probiotic-Rich Foods
  • Kefir Water
  • Probiotic Supplementation
  • Probiotic Retention Enema

Holistic Approach

As mentioned through out this post an enema bag and the use of one is not a cure all.

It should be utilized for specific applications such as in the instance of a detox or cleanse protocol you are following, after you may have eaten something that caused digestive concerns or during a fast or for occasional constipation.

The main thing people use an enema bag for is constipation but it is important to get into the root cause issue for chronic constipation.

Diet

Utilize a healthy diet approach that is suitable for your specific situation.

This can look different for each person and you and your health practitioner will need to decide what is best.

Typically a wide variety of colorful low glycemic fruits and vegetables that are organically grown is helpful for healthy bowel movements.

Blended foods like smoothies and soups and one of my specialty blender ice creams free of sugar and loaded with superfoods are wonderful to ease digestive woes.

For recipes, you might enjoy this section of the site.

Supplements

You will also want to heal and seal your gut with things like ion gut and butyrate.

You can also utilize Oxy Powder as a way to clean out the entire digest tract.

Making sure your body is well hydrated, has minerals, and is getting key electrolytes to ensure healthy bowel movements.

Exercise

Moving the body is key to getting your bowels moving.

With sticky, sluggish blood toxins won’t exit and it will be harder for the bowels to work properly.

What’s more without movement the colon begins to sag.

If you want a healthy colon a mini rebounder can help keep it firm and toned. When you jump on a rebounder you give your whole body a toning and tightening effect.

The other key is your posture.

If your posture is poor this impedes the health of the colon.

Keep your spine healthy and use exercise and movement to help elongate it so that your colon can do what it does best.

I love tai chi stretches for this reason.

Simply bend at the waist and let your arms hang.

Then after a while, you can grasp onto your elbows and begin a light bounce.

Practice good posture throughout the day.

Mental Emotional Health

Stress affects our entire body. It is important to have stress management techniques.

Whether those are talking to someone qualified or utilizing the power of mediation it is a key factor in our overall health.

How To Use an Enema Bag

enema instructions

Materials Needed:

  1. Enema kit or bag: You can purchase a disposable enema kit or a reusable medical-grade enema bag here on Amazon.
  2. Water: Use lukewarm, purified water. Make sure it is at body temperature, around 98-104°F (37-40°C).
  3. Towel or mat: Lay down a towel or mat in the bathroom to catch any spills.
  4. Lubricant: I like to use organic coconut oil to lube the tip.

Procedure:

  1. Prepare the Enema Kit:

    • Assemble the enema bag according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
    • Ensure that the tubing and nozzle are securely attached.
    • Hang the enema bag at a level above the body, allowing gravity to assist with the flow of water.

  2. Positioning:

    • Choose a comfortable location, such as a bathroom or a dedicated space with easy access to a toilet.
    • You can either get on your knees so your rear is higher than your stomach or lay on your side. But if you use that method you will want to lay on your back after the water is in and lift your but in the air to get the water deep into the colon.

  3. Prepare the Area:

    • Place a towel or mat under your hips to catch any spills.
    • Have a small pillow or cushion for comfort.

  4. Lubricate the Tip:

    • Apply lubricant to the tip of the enema nozzle.

  5. Insert the Nozzle:

    • Gently insert the lubricated nozzle into the rectum, following the natural curve. Be cautious and gentle to avoid injury.

  6. Release the Water:

    • Open the clamp on the tubing to allow water to flow into the rectum. If discomfort occurs, temporarily stop the flow and breathe deeply.

  7. Hold and Expel:

    • Once the enema bag is empty or you feel full, close the clamp.
    • Hold the water for a few minutes (as advised by your healthcare professional) and then expel the water into the toilet. This could take up to 20 minutes to get everything out.

  8. Clean and Store:

    • Clean the enema kit thoroughly according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
    • Store the kit in a clean, dry place.
