Looking for Anna’s Wild Yam Cream Reviews? Check out my post here. It features the top 14 reviews I found.
When I learned about Anna’s wild yam cream from Barbara O’niell years ago I was intrigued.
I bought Anna’s Wild Yam cream from the Australian website which you can check out here.
I am not affiliated with them but I love the product so I highly recommend it!
While it took a while to get to the U.S. from overseas it was so potent and helpful at easing hormonal imbalances.Â
If you can get Anna’s wild yam cream locally even better.
But since it gained in popularity recently I started to purchase an Anna’s wild yam cream alternative here in the States.
But even that wild yam cream had lead times and delays.
I then went to Etsy to just buy it from someone there.
But I found that the seller was using synthetic fragrances and other sketchy ingredients that caused a rash on my wrists.
I wanted something wild crafted or all organic with no questionable ingredients. And one that was potent and top quality.Â
I found it works and I think is likely more potent than any store-bought brand.
It was then I thought to myself, well I make my own mineral-rich toothpastes, my deodorant, including my own anti-aging suppositories why not make my own wild yam cream?
I have taken a certification in Holistic Herbal Product Making and it gave me the confidence to make this very recipe.
Now I present to you a DIYÂ version of Anna’s wild yam cream that I make super potent.
It does not have the same ingredients but it does have the most important which are the wild yam root and chaste tree berries.
So the stars of this herbal cream are vitex and chaste tree berries just like Anna’s wild yam cream version. I make an oil infusion mixed with a water decoction that makes for a potent cream.
Knowing you can craft your medicines and create a lot of them to offer up to friends, and family or just to keep stored in a cool, dark environment as you need them saves you money in the long run.
So this article is to empower you to make your version of Anna’s wild yam cream to be empowered and be the medicine woman that you are.
Wild Yam Cream Benefits
Wild yam cream, derived from the roots of the wild yam plant, has gained popularity for its potential benefits in supporting women’s hormonal balance.Â
One of its key advantages lies in its natural compounds, such as diosgenin, which some believe can be converted into progesterone – a vital hormone for regulating the menstrual cycle and maintaining overall reproductive health.Â
By using wild yam cream, women can potentially alleviate symptoms associated with hormonal imbalances, such as irregular periods, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and even menopausal discomfort.
Furthermore, wild yam cream is often touted for its ability to ease menopausal symptoms.Â
During menopause, a woman’s estrogen levels decline, leading to various discomforts like hot flashes, mood swings, and insomnia.Â
Wild yam cream, is believed to help mitigate these symptoms, promoting a smoother transition through this natural stage of life. And the testimonials can vouch for that.
Another significant benefit of wild yam cream is its potential to reduce menstrual cramps and discomfort.Â
By balancing hormone levels, particularly during the menstrual cycle, wild yam cream may help alleviate the severity of cramps, making menstruation more manageable and less painful for many women.
Additionally, wild yam cream is sometimes used to support fertility.Â
Regulating hormones and promoting a healthier menstrual cycle, can enhance the chances of conception for women struggling with fertility issues related to hormonal imbalances.Â
This natural approach to supporting fertility is appealing to those who prefer natural remedies to pharmaceutical interventions.
Moreover, wild yam cream is often chosen by women seeking natural and holistic methods for hormone regulation.Â
Unlike synthetic hormones, wild yam cream offers a more organic solution, potentially reducing the risks associated with artificial hormone therapies.Â
This natural approach aligns with the growing trend of embracing herbal remedies and holistic wellness practices.
Chaste Tree Berries Benefits
Chaste tree berries are also added to this cream just like Anna’s cream uses.
Here are some of the astounding benefits of Chaste Tree Berries.
Relieving Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) Symptoms: Vitex is known for its ability to alleviate various symptoms associated with PMS, such as mood swings, breast tenderness, bloating, and headaches.
It does this by helping to balance the ratio of estrogen to progesterone, which can be a factor in PMS symptoms.
Managing Menopausal Symptoms: Chaste tree berries can help manage certain menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes and mood disturbances.
By modulating hormone levels, Vitex may contribute to a smoother transition through menopause.
Fertility Support: For women struggling with infertility due to hormonal imbalances, chaste tree berries may be beneficial.
By promoting regular menstrual cycles and restoring hormonal balance, it can enhance the chances of conception.
Reducing Symptoms of Endometriosis: Vitex is sometimes used by women with endometriosis, a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus.
Chaste tree berries might help alleviate symptoms related to hormonal fluctuations in endometriosis.
So let’s get into the DIY wild yam cream recipe that includes Chaste Tree.

DIY Wild Yam Cream Recipe
Equipment
- Measuring cup
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup organic wild yam roots for oil infusion
- 25 grams or about 2 tbs of Chaste Tree Berries for water decoction
- 1 ounce beeswax helps with consistency
- 1 ml vitamin e oil as preservative
- 2 droppers full wild yam alcohol extract optional but adds potency and preservative quality
- 1 cup avocado oil
- 4 tbsp avocado oil Add these 4 extra TBS to count for the loss from heating. If you forget this step add in before the beeswax step
- 20-30 drops favorite essential oil
Instructions
Create a Hot Infused Oil Preparation
- Start with a double boiler. Or if you don't have one simply use a pot filled with a small amount of water to boil and then place a smaller ceramic or glass bowl on top of that pot. This will ensure you don't over heat the oil infusion.
- The key is to only allow the steam to touch that top bowl not the boiling water. This will make a well infused oil without over heating the infusion.
- Next take 1 cup of oil + 4 tbs of oil to account for the loss when heating ( I use Avocado oil since it can withstand heat well) and I use dried wild yams so you will use about 3/4 cup of dried yam. If using fresh wild yams you would make sure to use enough to be covered in oil. But since we are using dried yams we need to leave room for it to expand so slightly less herb to oil.
- Once the water in the pan is boiling go ahead and top it with the herb and oil that is well saturated.
- With a wooden spoon you can make sure it is well covered under oil. And be sure the water does not touch the bowl but only the steam does.
- Cover with a lid and allow it to simmer for 3 hours.
- Let the oil cool for several hours and then take a cheese cloth or muslin cloth and strain the wild yams out. This will leave you with a potent oil infusion.
Herbal Decoction
- Next we we want to make our herbal decoction. We start with 25 grams of chaste tree berries and add them to a stainless steel or glass pot.
- Next add 750 ml of distilled water.
- Bring this to a boil and then let it simmer for 30 minutes
- Once complete and cooled for several hours you will strain it and then add any essential oils you would like in it or like I love to do at this step is add a wild yam alcohol extract to this. This helps it last longer due to the alcohol. Then top it with enough distilled water to make one full cup of liquid.
Making the Herbal Cream
- Now take the 1 cup of herbal infused oil and put over your double boiler again. Be sure the steam only touches it and never over heat it.Add in 1 ounce of beeswax to this mixture. The ratio is 1 cup of infused oil to 1 ounce of beeswax.
- Stir with a wooden spoon until well incorporated.
- Wait for it to cool first. Here I add 1 ml of Vitamin E oil as a natural preservative. And put it in a large enough container to use your hand immersion blender or whisk it all together. I use a large beaker.
- Add in the herbal oil/beeswax mixture first. You could also add your favorite essential oils or tinctures to this step as well.
- Then with your hand immersion blender slowly add in the water decoction.
- As you add this in it will start to form a cream.
- The alcohol tincture and vitamin e will help as a preservative however for this to last up to 3 months you would want to keep in the refrigerator.
- Store in a dark glass jar with the date and ingredients list.
